TCJL SUPPORTS – Under proposed legislation introduced by Rep. Kenneth Sheets (R-Dallas), an electronic image on a cell phone may replace paper as proof of motor vehicle financial responsibility. If enacted into law, HB 678 will allow a driver to present proof of insurance on his or her wireless communication device to law enforcement in lieu of the hard copy that never seems to be in the car when one needs it.
