HB 1859 by Rep. Myra Crownover (R-Denton) and its companion, SB 1094 by Sen. Juan Hinojosa (D-McAllen) may be scheduled for hearing next week in House Energy Resources and Senate Natural Resources, respectively. These bills protect a subsequent purchaser of oil and gas products from enforcement of the producer’s lien on those products when the subsequent purchaser has paid for them. It is likely that SB 1094 will be heard on Tuesday, April 2, and HB 1859 the following Wednesday afternoon.
