Rep. Todd Hunter
Earlier today the House passed HB 2302 by Rep. Todd Hunter (R-Corpus Christi), which establishes a statewide electronic filing system for Texas courts. The bill finances the system with a $20 filing fee for civil actions and appeals ($10 for justice courts), as well as a $5 court cost upon criminal conviction. TCJL strongly supports this legislation. The Senate companion, SB 1146 by Sen. West, is out of committee in the Senate and awaiting arrival of the House bill.
