Texas remains a national leader in job creation, adding 43,800 new jobs in two months according to data released by the Texas Workforce Commission last week. The unemployment rate in October fell to 6.2 percent, declining for the third consecutive month and well below the national rate of 7.3 percent. From October 2012 to October 2013, the state added a total of 267,400 new jobs.

“Texas’ strong track record of job creation continues to set a national example,” Gov. Perry said. “Our simple combination of low taxes, smart regulations and a fair legal system has made Texas the best state in the nation to live, raise a family and grow a business.”
