Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Mark Pittman of Fort Worth as judge of the 352nd Judicial District Court in Tarrant County for a term to expire at the 2016 general election.
Pittman is an enforcement attorney for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Fort Worth Regional Office, and is currently serving as a special assistant U.S. attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas. He is a past senior attorney for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. Dallas Regional Office, past assistant U.S. Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas and a past trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Division, Commercial Litigation Branch. He is a past civil litigation attorney with Kelly, Hart and Hallman LLP, past law clerk to Judge Eldon B. Mahon of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas Fort Worth Division, and past assistant in the general counsel office of Gov. George W. Bush. He is a member of the Tarrant County Bar Association, secretary of the Texas Radiation Advisory Board and vice president and a founding member of the Tarrant County (Fort Worth) Chapter of the Federalist Society. He is a past member of the Eldon B. Mahon Inn of Court, Tarrant County Young Lawyers Association and American Bar Association. He is a member of the St. Patrick Cathedral Knights of Columbus and St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Fort Worth.
Pittman received a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and a law degree from The University of Texas School of Law.
