This notice only applies to candidates and committees that are involved in a special runoff election
February 9, 2015: Runoff report must be received by February 9.
February 8, 2015 to February 16, 2015 at noon: filing period for daily special pre-election reports.
February 9, 2015: The runoff report due eight days before the special runoff election must be received by the Texas Ethics Commission by February 9. Candidates for the office must file even if there was no activity during the reporting period. Political committees that accept political contributions or make political expenditures and/or have other activity in connection with the election are also required to file this report. The first day covered by the report is January 1, 2015, the date your campaign treasurer appointment was filed, or the day after the date the last report ended, as applicable. The last day covered by the report is February 7, 2015.
February 8, 2015: The period for filing special pre-election reports (daily filings) begins February 8, 2015, and ends at noon on February 16, 2015. A filer may be required to file more than one special pre-election report.
Candidates and Specific-Purpose Committees: A candidate or specific-purpose committee that accepts political contributions from a single source that total more than $1,000 during the reporting period must file the special pre-election report. A special pre-election report must be received by the Texas Ethics Commission by the first business day after the date of the contribution that causes the total amount accepted from a contributorduring the period to exceed $1,000.
General-Purpose Committees: A general-purpose committee must file a special pre-election report if the committee is involved in the special election being held on February 17, 2015, and if the committee accepts political contributions from a person that total more than $5,000 during the reporting period, or makes direct campaign expenditures supporting or opposing either a single candidate that total more than $1,000 or a group of candidates that total more than $15,000 during the reporting period. A special pre-election report must be received by the first business day after the date the contribution is accepted or the expenditure is made that causes the total amount to exceed the applicable threshold.

Persons filing campaign finance reports with the Ethics Commission are required to file those reports electronically unless the person falls within the statutory exemption.
