A bill filed Friday in the Texas House would close an alleged loophole in state law that allows nonresidents to bring suit in Texas court involving incidents that happened outside state borders.

H.B. 1692, filed by Rep. Kenneth Sheets, R-Dallas, is intended to curb the practice of foreign cases being brought in Texas courts against American manufacturers.
