Governor Abbott Appoints Dusek To 51st Judicial District Court

AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Carmen Symes Dusek to the 51st Judicial District Court in Coke, Irion, Schleicher, Sterling and Tom Green Counties for a for a term set to expire December 31, 2020, or until her successor shall be duly elected and qualified.
Carmen Symes Dusek of San Angelo is senior counsel at Jackson Walker, LLP. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Association of Defense Trial Attorneys, National Association of Counsel for Children, and the Defense Research Institute and fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. She is former vice president of the Tom Green County Bar Association, former nominations committee member of the Texas Association of Defense Council, and a former member of the Texas Young Lawyers Association and the Tom Green County Young Lawyers Association, a former gubernatorial appointee to the Texas Protect Our Kids Commission. Dusek received a bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University and a Juris Doctor degree from Texas Tech University School of Law.
