This morning the Senate Committee on Health and Human Services is hearing SB 7, which punishes employers for requiring an employee, contractor, or applicant to be vaccinated against COVID-19 or taking an adverse action against an employee, contractor, or applicant for refusing.a vaccine. The bill grants administrative penalty authority to the Texas Workforce Commission and directs the attorney general to seek injunctive relief against employers. The proposed legislation contains no language protecting an employer for complying with a federal mandate.
