Littler Mendeslon P.C., a San Francisco-based international law firm that specializes in employment and labor law, is maintaining a national and state-specific litigation tracker for employment lawsuits arising from the COVID-19 emergency.

The figures show nearly 1,800 cases employment cases alone, about 800 in federal courts and 1,000 in state courts across the country. The most common claims involve leave policies, discrimination, retaliation, and unsafe working conditions. Class actions account for 142 of the cases. The five states with the most litigation include California, Florida, New York, New Jersey, and Texas. Of the 93 Texas cases identified so far, 55 were brought in federal court and 38 in state court.
