Gov. Rick Perry has appointed David Stith of Corpus Christi as judge of the 319th Judicial District Court in Nueces County for a term to expire at the next general election.

Stith is an attorney and partner at Cassidy and Stith, and former judge of the Nueces County Court at Law 3. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, College of the State Bar of Texas, and Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and a member and past president of the Nueces County Bar Association. He is a graduate of the Corpus Christi Citizens’ Police Academy, past president of the Coastal Bend Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, a past commissioner of the Nueces County Board of Coastal Parks, and a past pro bono attorney for the Thomas More Law Center. He is also a member of the Rotary Club of Corpus Christi and the Leadership Corpus Christi Alumni Association, and is a sponsor of Compassion International.

Stith received a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas and a law degree from the Texas Tech University School of Law, and is board certified in criminal law from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
