HB 1325 by Rep. Doug Miller (R-New Braunfels) has been set for House consideration on the April 19 regular calendar. The bill establishes a process for the dismissal of inactive asbestos and silica claims that do not meet the medical criteria. If it is finally passed and signed by the Governor, the vast majority of claims on the MDL inactive docket will likely be dismissed. The bill has been agreed to by the major stakeholder groups and should not have organized opposition on the floor. TCJL strongly supports this legislation.
