LITIGATION HEDGE FUNDS – Rep. Doug Miller (R-New Braunfels) has filed a second bill relating to the practice of third-party litigation financing. HB 1855 directs the Texas Supreme Court to adopt rules mandating the disclosure of third-party litigation financing agreements to parties in a civil action. The rules must be adopted by December 31, 2013. HB 1595, previously filed by Rep. Miller, contains a provision directly mandating disclosure of third-party litigation agreements without a Supreme Court rulemaking.
